Formerly occupied by Jewson's, this site benefitted from planning permission to build 19 houses, 19 flats & two commercial units. Consented development sites which include new build houses and zero affordable housing tend to be popular when they go to market, and it was no different in this case.
Situated next to the railway line, the site wasn't without its complications, however the pros certainly outweighed the cons for most. A variety of proposals were received, some of which offered the commercial space back to the sellers once built, however they decided to proceed with an offer which gave them a clean exit from the site. The was site sold to a local developer who has completed several similar sized projects in Kent.
